In 2007, Mike Gala and Shelley Cohen moved into a 70 year old home that was in need of a lot of love. Ever since they moved in, they have been engaged in an urban eco-renovation of their DC home to make it a functional, livable space and to achieve their ultimate goal of becoming carbon neutral. To achieve this goal, Mike and Shelley are employing a three prong strategy – enhance the efficiency of their home, make behavioral changes to reduce consumption, and installing renewable energy.
